The new GTSR range isn't just an Australian muscle car milestone, it's the ultimate expression of Australian high-performance. Only the fortunate few will be able to get behind the wheel of one of these exclusive machines and claim a part of Australian high-performance history. But for those who do, the thrill will last a lifetime.
Everything about the GTSR screams high-performance. The stance is lower, meaner and more muscular than ever before. Wider front fenders house lightweight, 20" SV Panorama forged alloy wheels. Finished in Hyper Dark Stainless with GTSR embossed branding, the extra wide alloys (9" front, 10" rear) help deliver incredible grip.
Bold and menacing from every angle, the GTSR also boasts a new, race-inspired front fascia and splitter to maximise airflow to the most powerful LSA Generation IV alloy V8 HSV has ever offered. With a massive 435kW of power and 740Nm of torque, the supercharged engine roars to life with a sound unlike any other; a sound that’s transformed into a symphony of awe-inspiring notes thanks to a newly calibrated bi-modal twin exhaust system with quad exhaust outlets and dual diamond-shaped tips.
Gear changes are as fast as they are smooth thanks to a Tremec TR-6060 (MG9 spec.) 6-speed manual transmission or optional 6-speed automatic transmission with Active Select and paddle shifters. And when the time comes to bring the exhilaration to a halt, 6-piston AP Racing brakes with monoblock calipers and massive 410mm front rotors help deliver world-class stopping power.
Inside the cockpit of the GTSR, 8-way electrically adjustable HSV Podium front seats set a totally new standard. Finished in Alcantara with diamond quilted stitching and leather inserts, they deliver perfect comfort while enhancing the driver's connection to the car.
Turn the Driver Preference Dial clockwise and your level of exhilaration will instantly surge as the GTSR recalibrates electronic systems like Magnetic Ride Control, ESC, Traction Control, Torque Vectoring and Launch Control (manual transmission) for even greater performance. Keeping you informed along the way is an Enhanced Driver Interface that displays performance-related data including vehicle dynamics, engine RPM, G-forces and driver inputs.
The GTSR has been designed to lead, a fact other drivers will quickly realise as you accelerate away and they watch the car's new rear spoiler, lower diffuser and 'diamond-shaped' exhaust tips disappear into the distance. And, just to remind you that you're behind the wheel of an exclusive part of Australian high-performance history, GTSR also features distinctive branding on the sill plates, headrests, passenger airbag cover and floor mats.
